Community Building Group (CBG) has developed 500 homes in Florida, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. since 1989. Community Building Group develops communities through use of its research and development activities and its hands-on programs. CBG is designated as a non-profit corporation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. The Board of Directors includes real estate industry professionals and community leaders.

CBG’s Goal is to create sustainable mixed-income and culturally sensitive communities. Community Building Group sets the standard by developing quality homes affordable to low and moderate income families through joint ventures with both the private and public sectors.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

CBG’s Renewable Energy Program is to stimulate the use of renewable energy in local communities.

CBG is conducting research and development internationally in Burkina Faso, West Africa. A 1.5 million gallon water reservoir has been completed.

Community Building Group develops both multi-family and single-family communities. Each community is distinctive – from conceptual design to the detailed selection of finishes guided by the demands of the market place and the specific requirements of the intended residents. Working closely with business and community leaders, universities, financial institutions, federal, state, and local governments, and other non-profit organizations, Community Building Group expands the production of home ownership for first-time buyers.

Unique approaches are applied to all stages of the development process, including innovative financing, design, and management. CBG provides education and research with those working in the production of workforce housing. By testing new technologies and financing strategies, Community Building Group is able to demonstrate methods for success.
